📊 How NREMT Scoring Works
Pass/Fail Only
The NREMT doesn't give you a percentage score. You either demonstrate entry-level competency (PASS) or you don't yet (FAIL). No number, no grade.
Adaptive Testing (CAT)
The computer adjusts question difficulty based on your performance. EMT: 70–120 questions. Paramedic: 80–150 questions. It stops when it's 95% confident in your competency level.
Feedback If You Fail
If you don't pass, you'll see performance feedback per content area: Above Passing, Near Passing, or Below Passing. Use this to focus your restudy.
💡 Why Traditional Topic-Based Study Still Matters
Don't be confused by the test plan categories. While the NREMT scores you on broad content areas like "Medical/OB/GYN" or "Clinical Judgment," you still need to learn the actual medicine — and that means studying by traditional topics.
